Professor Wen-Cai Ye is vice president of Jinan University (Guangzhou, China). He received his B.S. at the China Pharmaceutical University in 1983 and PhD at the Hong Kong University of Science & Technology in 2001. Prof. Ye is the recipient of Changjiang Scholar Distinguished Professor, the National Science Foundation for Distinguished Young Scholars, the National Candidate of the New Century Talents Project, and the Nanyue Hundred Outstanding Scholar of Guangdong Province.
Prof. Ye’s research interests focus on the discovery of natural bioactive molecules and the development of innovative drugs, and a number of innovative achievements in these fields have been reached. Prof. Ye had published over 520 peer-reviewed research papers in SCI journals, such as JACS, J Clin Invest, Angew Chem Int Ed, Hepatology, Mol Psychiatry, J Extracell Vesicels, STTT et al. Prof. Ye’s works have been cited for more than 14000 times so far, and he has been selected successively as the Elsevier Chinese Highly Cited Researcher. Prof. Ye has been authorized nine international patents and over 50 Chinese patents, 20 of which had been industrialized. Prof. Ye has been awarded the National Competition Award for Innovation Winner (2020), the second-class prize of National Sciences and Technology Progress Award (2017), the first-class prize of Guangdong Sciences and Technology Awards (2013, 2016 and 2020), the Excellent Award of China Patent (2012), and the first-class prize of China Innovative Achievement Awards of China Industry-University-Research Institute collaboration (2016 and 2019). In addition, Prof. Ye is an award winner of the China Pharmaceutical Science Development Award, Guangdong Ding Ying Scientific & Technology Award, the State Council Special Allowance, the National Model Teacher, and the National Outstanding Scientific and Technological Workers Award.
